OUR STRATEGY
Ensuring food security for Cobb County, GA, involves a multifaceted approach that addresses the availability, accessibility, and sustainability of food resources for all residents.

Establish programs that promote and support local agriculture through grants, training, and resources, ensuring a vibrant local economy while reducing dependence on outside food sources.
Increase the number and accessibility of farmers' markets where residents can buy fresh, local produce. Implement programs that accept SNAP benefits to assist low-income families.
Develop community-based educational programs that teach residents about nutrition, cooking, and budgeting for healthy meals. Collaborate with local schools and organizations to promote dietary awareness.
Launch community gardening projects that encourage residents to grow their own food, fostering a sense of community while providing access to fresh produce.

Partner with local nonprofits and food banks to expand food distribution efforts, providing emergency food assistance and reducing food waste by redistributing surplus food.
Work with local government agencies to create policies that support food security, such as zoning laws that promote urban agriculture.
